Students

You Belong Here.

Our vision for Waypoint Students is to make a way for students and families to BELONG to a community of faith that will help them BELIEVE in Jesus Christ as their Savior and go BEYOND themselves to live life with purpose through the Gospel. Our students meet on Wednesday nights at The Realm throughout the school year for a Midweek gathering at 6:30 PM. Our Life Groups are designed to give students a voice and a community to pursue life with Christ together. We invite you to follow us on instagram and subscribe to our email list! MIDWEEK

Our Midweek gatherings are a chance for students to embrace a relevant church environment that speaks to them with teaching, community, and worship. We want students to engage with their friends and faith as they learn what it means to follow Jesus. Midweek is for both middle and high school students on Wednesday nights from 6:30–8:00 PM at the Realm during the regular school year. Doors open at 6:15 PM.

Life Groups

Our Life Groups are designed to give students a voice and a community to pursue life with Christ together. Led by caring adult mentors, these Life Groups discuss a variety of life topics related to becoming more mature disciples of Jesus Christ. In a Life Group, you can be known, encouraged, prayed for, discipled, and held accountable. It’s a place where friendships are strengthened and memories are created.

Middle School Life Groups: Sundays at 9:00–10:15 AM at the Realm. (separated by gender and grade)

High School Life Groups: Sundays at 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM in homes separated by grade.  Occasionally, all high school life groups will meet together in the Realm.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Realm is our student building where students connect, worship, and build community. The Realm is located across the street from our main campus.

We have the best student team that is ready and excited to welcome your student into the ministry. Students do not need to register for a Life Group or Midweek service. We desire that your student feels like they BELONG every time they walk into The Realm (our student building). We want to connect with your student! If you are ready to lean in and take the next step to get them involved with our ministry, use the Questions form at the bottom of this page and we will be sure to connect them to our ministry!

We work hard to create an environment specifically designed for middle and high school students. This includes our Midweek services that involve high-energy worship, practical teaching, and community moments. We also encourage all of our students to join a life group where they will make deep, faith building connections with their peers and mentors. We also hold significant life-changing events such as mission trips, The WKND, Fall Flannel Formal, and Winter Wonderland. Every event and service is designed and planned to engage our current culture in a Gospel-centered way.

We value your student’s safety. And because our ministry is packed with minors during student gatherings, we only allow background checked adult Mentors to attend these events. For parents, you are more than welcome to get a quick tour of the Realm by a Mentor before Life Groups or Midweek. They can show you around and answer any questions you may have, but after the tour we would ask that you leave the building.

At this moment, we have an amazing group of mentors who lead our student ministry here at Waypoint Church. We want you to serve where the Lord can use you in a mighty way, and we would love to find the perfect fit for you in Waypoint Students! If you are interested in serving with our student ministry, please contact Jenny.

We’d love to meet you! Midweek is a great place to see what we’re all about. Midweek is for both middle and high school students on Wednesday nights from 6:30–8:00 PM at the Realm during the regular school year. Doors open at 6:15 PM.

Midweek

It’s easy! If you’re a middle school student, groups are made up of students separated by grade and gender. When you arrive on Sunday morning, you’ll be paired with a group accordingly.

If you’re in high school, you’ll be with a group of students in the same grade. To join a high school life group, please contact Kirk, our Student Pastor, to get connected!

This summer both Middle and High School groups are diving deeper into topics that will challenge and deepen their faith.

Finding Truth Series:

Christians today face all kinds of challenges when it comes to understanding who they are and what they’re meant to do. There’s no shortage of options that claim to offer “truth.” If we’re not careful, we can find ourselves chasing after popular opinion, celebrity opinions, or the tug of our emotions all the while neglecting the unchanging truth found in Scripture. In this four-session series, pastor and author Francis Chan invites students into the power and confidence that comes from anchoring their identity, purpose, and relationships in the truth of Scripture. Students will walk away with practical steps toward building their lives on the firm foundation of the Bible.

Jesus in Our Generation Series:

Every generation approaches the world a bit differently, impacting their view of God, self, and neighbor. For teenagers, major advances in technology and rapidly changing social and political landscapes have left us scrambling to find or even define truth. How do we adapt to cultural revolutions while remaining anchored to God’s unchanging word? In this four-session series, author and pastor Ben Stuart will discuss the major areas in our lives that are directly impacted by modern culture. Discover God’s timeless wisdom for this generation and truths that will anchor us in Christ.

High School University

This year we are going even BIGGER! We will have Bible professors from three Universities speaking. If you are a high school student and you want seminary depth classes to challenge you, then make sure you are at Waypoint University this summer. Topics include Baptist Distinctives & Other Denominations, Atheism/Agnostic, Mormonism, Islam, Canonization, Case for Christ, Eschatology, and Evangelism 101.
